Mr. McCauley is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School who has served exclusively as a commercial arbitrator and mediator, on assignments throughout the United States, for nearly twenty years. When arbitrating and mediating cases, he makes use of his years of experience as an AV-rated trial and appellate lawyer who handled complex commercial, employment, construction and real property matters, including class actions.

 

Mr. McCauley is a Fellow and Board Member of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (FCCA), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Distinguished Fellow Emeritus of the International Academy of Mediators, and a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He was an editor and contributing author of the fourth edition of The College of Commercial Arbitrators Guide to Best Practices in Arbitration (Juris Press, 2017).

 

For the past decade, Mr. McCauley has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, in the field of ADR, and was honored by Best Lawyers as “Lawyer of the Year” in the field of Mediation for the San Jose region in 2013, and for the Los Angeles Region in 2020.

 

He has taught courses in ADR at Pepperdine, Loyola, UMKC, University of Kansas and Creighton Law Schools, and has written and spoken widely on ADR topics, both domestically and internationally.

 

He serves on the national roster of the American Arbitration Association where he is included in the Large Complex Case, Commercial, Real Property and Construction, Employment, class action and Healthcare Panels, as well as the roster of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. He also serves as an arbitrator for United State Arbitration & Mediation (Mid-West) and as a mediator and arbitrator for Judicate West (California). In the past decade he has handled nearly a thousand arbitrations and mediations, involving primarily large and complex matters.

 

Mr. McCauley is available for arbitration and mediation assignments throughout the United States.
